"It's scintillating, dark, and rainbow-hued steel, like an oil spill; the interlocking skeletons tessellated over the whole boxy structure, so that the vessel seemed an enormous moving ossuary." [1]

The Erebos, later Seat of the Emperor is a Behemoth-class vessel in the Cohort's armada that serves as the Emperor's flagship.

History[]

The Erebos returns to the Nine Houses System following the distress call placed by Judith Deuteros at Canaan House. Cohort forces recover and bring aboard Harrowhark Nonagesimus and Ianthe Tridentarius, as well as the bodies and remains of most of the postulants that died at Canaan House.

After the Emperor and his Lyctors depart for the Mithraeum, The Erebos will travel to the Ninth House and deliver the gift of preserved Ninth inhabitants from the Resurrection era to revitalize the population. Once delivered, The Erebos will continue to each of the Houses and return their dead.

The Emperor's final command to Admiral Sarpedon before departing the Erebos for the Mithraeum is to rename the ship Seat of the Emperor, as a reminder of the 80 years the Emperor spent in residence aboard the ship.

Locations[]

Cargo Hold[]

A large, storage room with a steel balcony, one cargo hold of the Erebos contains the 500 resurrected and frozen bodies that will be used to repopulate the Ninth House, as well as the caskets of those who died at Canaan House.

Hospital Quarter[]

The hospital quarter of the Erebos is an onboard medical facility that tends to the sick and wounded. Harrowhark spends several weeks here recovering after being rescued from Canaan House.

Shuttle Bay[]

A busy launch bay for small supply ships coming and going from the Erebos, located near the cargo holds. The Lyctors departed from Docking Bay Fourteen.
